The Village of Martin’s Additions (VMA) is celebrating 40 years as a municipality! Residents from this community in Chevy Chase, Maryland kicked off the festivities to honor this milestone with a party at La Ferme Restaurant. They welcomed Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich and several County Councilmembers to speak at the event.
VMA derives its name from developer Harry M. Martin who purchased four parcels of land in 1896 from the Chevy Chase Land Company. His acquisitions were known as “Martin’s Additions to Chevy Chase.” Fast-forward to a century later, VMA was incorporated as a municipality in March of 1985. Read the full history here.
Today, nearly 1,000 residents in approximately 325 homes live in VMA. Watch highlights from the celebration at La Ferme, and visit martinsadditions.org to learn more about this municipality.
