On a new episode of Solutions, host Cheryl Hawkins welcomes the African American Health Program (AAHP) President & CEO George McFarland. AAHP is a Rockville, Maryland based nonprofit aiming to eliminate health disparities for African Americans in Montgomery County. They do this by raising awareness of the disparities, educating at-risk populations, monitoring health status data, and facilitating community outreach programs.
McFarland emphasizes the education component about improving health outcomes. AAHP offers a variety of classes and community events that promote good nutrition, exercise, screening for diseases, and much more. Join them at an upcoming event: AAHP Community Day at the Montgomery College Germantown Campus from 9AM-3PM.
