Montgomery County, Md. — Montgomery Municipal Cable (MMC) has been recognized with two 2026 Hometown Media Awards, honoring excellence in community programming produced for Public, Educational, and Government (PEG) access television.
MMC received awards in the following categories:
- Community Events – Activism/Rallies for its coverage of the Town of Kensington’s Juneteenth Celebration, recognizing outstanding coverage of community events that promote social awareness and civic engagement.
- Informational Talk Show – Series for Solutions, hosted and produced by Cheryl Hawkins, PhD, and Eugene Miller. The award recognizes discussion and interview programs that educate viewers on important topics affecting their communities.
The Hometown Media Awards are presented annually by the Foundation of the Alliance for Community Media to recognize excellence in community media programming distributed on Public, Educational, and Government (PEG) access channels. The awards honor outstanding media projects that were telecast or streamed during the previous year. Entries are evaluated by a panel of qualified judges and recognized during the Hometown Media Awards Celebration at the Alliance for Community Media’s Annual Conference.
