Johnnie Walker is an adorable one-year-old dog who was living on the streets before he was rescued by PetConnect Rescue in Potomac, MD.
Currently, Lizette Chanock, the founder of PetConnect Rescue, fosters Johnnie Walker. Incidentally, Hurricane Katrina, inspired Chanock’s passion for animal resue.
Chanock felt saddened watching the news and learning about hundreds of lost pets, separated from their owners. As a result, she and a friend took a long car ride to New Orleans, LA, intending to rescue two or three animals; instead, they drove back to Maryland with a car full of rescue animals.
On #HappyAndHealthy, Nira Berry interviews Chanock, along with the executive director for PetConnect Rescue, Lisa Velenovsky. Also making an appearance on the show is Johnnie Walker the dog.
The guests discuss the process of pet adoption, misconceptions about pet rescue, and finding the right time to adopt. Additionally, Berry discusses the health and wellness benefits to pet ownership.
