Meet Sofia Antonioli, a senior at Walt Whitman High School with a remarkable lineup of extracurriculars, including Board Member at the League of Women Voters of Montgomery County, MD. Perhaps just the start of her political career, Antonioli is the youngest member of the board, getting her generation’s voice heard during this critical election year. She wants to make politics more accessible and appealing to younger voters, joining forces with the League of Women Voters which is well-known for its non-partisan Voters’ Guide.
To her credits, Antonioli also adds: member of Whitman’s Model UN, founder of Whitman’s Banned Book Club, and member of Whitman’s first Girls’ Flag Football team. And this past summer, she interned at the Office of Maryland State Senator Sara Love. Watch below to learn more about this young change-maker.
You can also join Antonioli in her mission to raise the voter turnout. Here’s everything you need to know to vote and ways to get involved with the League of Women Voters of Montgomery County this election season.
