Latino Conservation Week (LCW) was created by the Hispanic Access Foundation in 2014 to connect Latino communities across the country with opportunities to get involved in outdoor recreation, conservation education, and advocacy efforts.

Whether we are helping Latinos build their financial literacy, explore new workforce opportunities, become environmental stewards or advocate for one’s health, trust and a commitment to equity is at the core of everything we do.
The week aims to inspire the next generation of environmental stewards. As the largest minority group in America – one that is expected to grow to nearly one-third of the population by 2050 – the Latino community’s role as stewards is critical to the future success and preservation of our nation’s public lands. This year, there are expected to be more than 160 events nationwide. We hope you can join us!
Get outdoors and make an impact on your local environment! Join Montgomery Parks and the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection for a guided community cleanup of Broadacres Local Park and surrounding neighborhoods. We’ll discuss how litter enters waterways from our communities and outline five things you can do to help. Be prepared to walk up to 2 miles. We will provide all equipment and gear, just dress for weather and bring water!
