Just for the Record- A Vinyl Day Event
Saturday July 25, 2020 12pm-3pm
The Friends of the Library, Silver Spring Chapter, Montgomery County (FOLMC), Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL), Levine Music, and Open Sky Jazz will make first contact, needle to vinyl for a Virtual Just for the Record-A Vinyl Day. Facebook Live will host this celebration of music, culture, art, sound, expression, and community that everyone is invited to experience, tomorrow Saturday July 25, 2020 from 12pm-3pm.
The events for the day are the Make Music Montgomery Contest, Vinyl Day Panel Discussion, and a Pricing Vinyl Records Workshop. You’ll see performances from a group of chosen musical acts who are invited to perform for our community judges. The judges will make selections for the most original performance, most physically challenging performance, best tribute to an artist, overall excellence, and other categories. Selections will be made based upon musicality, originality, diversity of formats and acts, and practicality (whether the venue can accommodate the performance). An overall first prize valued at $100, and a second prize valued at $50 will also be awarded.
