Tonight at 7pm on The Next Word we have guest Marium Ahmad the Co-Founder of Up 2 Us Foundation. Marium shares how her and her mother started Up 2 Us Foundation, which is dedicated to eliminating hunger by providing dependable access to nutritious food to low income families. Up 2 Us Foundation is created for the people and by the people.
Up 2 Us Foundation started in the summer of 2019. The idea sparked from the words of Tupac Shakur’s powerful song, Better Dayz. Tupac says, “and only we can change. It’s up to us to clean up the streets, it ain’t the same.”
Up 2 Us has a weekend food backpack program called The Blue Bag Program. Its 1st initiative dedicated to serving children in food insecure households in Montgomery County, Maryland.
Up 2 Us has a annual Charity Basketball Fundraiser in December with the police department, fire department, some local officials, and the community to raise money and have fun together.
