Raycurt Johnson is an amazing musician and a good friend. He has performed on numerous recordings, in chamber orchestras at the finest symphony halls, and is an activist for live music in public spaces.
I first met Raycurt in 2008 at the union station Metro Station. He was playing at the landing between the escalators to allow the best acoustics to carry the music up and outward. It was extremely effective and affecting. I was drawn in by the sound from a distance and when I finally arrived at the source I was taken by the sheer beauty of what he was playing and the intense focus in which he engaged his instrument and the passersby.
I’m so grateful for the friendship that blossomed from getting in touch with him. I’m always energized and inspired when meeting or speaking with him and I hope that you are too! Learn more about Raycurt at raycurt.com
