On this episode of The Next Word, host Christine Warnke speaks with JaLynn Prince, Co-Founder of the Madison House Autism Foundation. The foundation’s mission is to model and advocate for the full inclusion of adults with autism in our communities by expanding opportunities in housing, employment, and social participation.
Prince discusses the history of the foundation, beginning with her own experience with her autistic son Madison, who at the time of diagnosis was only one in 2500. With more advanced research, today’s diagnosis rate is one in 36, making inclusivity a pressing issue for so many, particularly the parents of these children.
Madison House Autism Foundation’s current projects include the Autism Housing Network – an online platform sharing ideas and resources, Madison Fields – a neuro-inclusive, community-powered agricultural and equine resource center, the Autism After 21 Utah Project – a pilot program for statewide partnership in inclusivity, and much more.
