On a new episode of Housecall, Dr. David Doman welcomes Dr. Marie Borum, a Professor of Medicine at George Washington University who specializes in colon cancer screening. In the U.S., colon cancer is the 3rd most common cause of cancer related deaths in men, and the 4th most common cause in women. It is also estimated in this country that 150,000 cases will be diagnosed each year resulting in 53,000 deaths. It is one of the few cancers we can screen for, so join us in encouraging people to get screened in honor of National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month.
Watch to learn about the latest colon cancer research, who is most at-risk, preventative measures, and screening options.
