Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.
For over 50 years the Town of Kensington has held a celebration in honor of Labor Day which is attended by residents throughout the county as well as local leaders. This year the 53rd Annual Labor Day parade was cancelled, like many other events in 2020, due to the COVID pandemic.
MMC has covered the Annual Labor Day Parade in Kensington for over 20 years. On Monday, in honor of this tradition we will air the 52nd Annual Labor Day Parade at 10:00 am on Channel 16 or on our YouTube channel.
