Garden of Lights at Brookside Gardens is back and brighter than ever! The Montgomery County holiday season favorite opened November 22 and runs through January 5, 2025 with only occasional closures around Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. It is a rain or shine event in the beautiful, 50-acre outdoor gardens in Wheaton, Maryland.
MMC-TV got the scoop on what to expect this year from Stephanie Oberle, Director at Brookside Gardens. The half-mile loop is filled with all of the old favorites like a rainbow canopy, Loch Ness monster, and twinkling sky-high pine tree. New additions include flamingos with a reflecting glow in the pond and rows of color-changing jumping pads.
Oberle also explains that it’s the Montgomery Parks setting that makes this winter wonderland so unique, as compared to other light shows in the area. The intricate, nature-inspired light displays are embedded within the trees, flowerbeds, and manicured grounds. The set-up process takes about three months beginning in August.
