Pick Yourself Up Invited Dr. Trina Lynch-Jackson, a Author, Professor, & Social Entrepreneur to discuss what is needed to pursue your personal success story. The conversation comments starts with a very successful man, Tyler Perry. This man created his own Hollywood and was the first African-American to outright own a major film studio, rightly named Tyler Perry Studios. One thing Tyler Perry always had was confidence and has always believed in himself. Dr. Trina tells us that sometimes you have to close the door and open up another one. When you are an underdog or underserve you are seen as a challenge in a community. That is why you need to know who you are and what you want, then you can surround yourself with people who believe in you, and you always believe in yourself.
Dr. Lynch-Jackson is the founding member of VASIA, Volunteer Advocates For Seniors And Incapacitated Adults. She believes all elderly individuals deserve quality care and community support to lead a safe, dignified and independent life. The Volunteer Advocates for Seniors and Incapacitated Adults (VASIA) program is dedicated to serving and safeguarding the needs of incapacitated seniors. VASIA is known as the best practice model in the state of Indiana.
Being the Voice of the Voiceless has been her calling. Voices are heard in storytelling, poetry, quotes and placing pen to paper in journaling. Caution This May Hurt Your Feelings! is a compilation of Poems and Short Stories on Racial Diversity and Inclusion you can order. This short read in her words allows you to laugh, cry, take pause and be joyful in the voice within You. Trina says don’t ever be discouraged.
