On the latest episode of The Next Word, Christine Warnke speaks with guest Terry Rauch, Ph.D, the Director of Research & Development at the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs and is one of the longest serving executives in the Defense Medical area. In the interview Dr. Rausch discusses the collaborations between the National Institute of Health (NIH), Veterans Affairs (VA), and the Department of Defense (DoD). This major investment builds around major problems like combat casualty care, military infectious disease, military operational medicine, mental health, psychological resilience, rehabilitation of service member, regenerative medicine, and traumatic brain injury. The discoveries are shared amongst everyone and the focus is on the collaboration and moving (NATO) science forward in the areas of medicine and human factors.
