During the interview Congressman Boyle talks about how the House gave final approval on March 10, 2021 to The American Rescue Plan. A $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief bill that includes Emergency Legislative Package to fund vaccinations, provide immediate, direct relief to families bearing the brunt of the COVID-19 crisis, and support struggling communities. This is the single most popular and largest economic plan with a 75%-80% approval rating. It includes a $1,400 stimulus payment (to qualifying people), a child tax credit that will cut child poverty in half, relief for schools to reopen, relief for state & local governments, retirement security, and relief for multi employer pension plans.
Who Does The American Rescue Plan Help?
On March 1, 2021 Boyle (PA-02), a member of the House Ways and Means Committee, U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), a member of the Senate Finance Committee, and Representative Pramila Jayapal (WA-07), a member of the House Budget Committee unveiled the Ultra-Millionaire Tax Act. According to these three and many more it is time for a #WealthTax in America to make the Ultra-millionaire Americans pay their fair share and relieve the middle class families that have shouldered this unfair tax burden. The Ultra-Millionaire Tax Act would level the playing field and narrow the racial wealth gap by asking the wealthiest 100,000 households in America, or the top 0.05%, to pay their fair share.
