Tonight at 6:30pm The Next Word has guest Shelonda Stokes President & CEO of greiBO a branding, marketing company and Council member at the National Women’s Business Council (NWBC). Stokes discusses her experience at Morgan State, her career choice as an electrical engineer, and growing up in poverty in Baltimore city with a confidence that she could do anything instilled in her by her mother.
Stokes shares beyond the entertainment at the African American Festival, that included health & wellness, financial literacy, job placement. Her company greiBo previously designed, promoted and raised private funds for the two-day festival and grew the attendance to nearly half a million people.
Stokes shares about the National Women’s Business Council, who advises on issues of impact and importance to women entrepreneurs and business owners. Learn about the first public meeting with its newly-installed Council members. At this meeting, the new Council will share its vision and priorities for the remainder of the fiscal year. Each of the Council’s three subcommittees: Rural Women’s Entrepreneurship, Women in S.T.E.M., and Access to Capital & Opportunity will present their current priorities and initiatives to the full body and the public.
