Tonight at 9pm Road to Recovery has guest Arthur Rico Rush president of The Alliance of Concerned Men (ACM). This nonprofit organization is driven to saving lives of at-risk youth residing in high crime areas of the Washington DC metropolitan community. The Alliance has focused its attention on Public Safety issues and resources to save lives. For more information visit www.AllianceofConcernedMen.org.
Rush discusses his own recovery experience on how he changed his mind set to be positive and his peers helping in workshops and seminars. How he used networking and his sponsor to get his high school diploma, a janitor job that lead to a Superior Service award, which eventually took him to the Stride program on a full ride from the NIH to American University in the school of Business. Tune in to hear how Rush attainted these opportunities and became employed at the National Institute of Health (NIH).
By promoting fatherhood; strengthening families; and improving the quality of life of those who are incarcerated. ACM works in partnership with public institutions and agencies, faith-based organizations, other CBO’s and stakeholders to provide educational, social-cultural and economic opportunities available to at-risk youth and returning citizens in underprivileged communities in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan areas. Through the provision of wrap around services, the Alliance expands the economic, social and cultural opportunities accessible to at-risk youth, youth who are Returning Citizens, and young adults in our community.
