In 2017, 70 people here in Montgomery County lost their lives in fatal opioid overdoses. Starting tomorrow at 7:30pm, Inside Out welcomes back Montgomery County, Maryland’s Chief of Police Thomas Manger to discuss the opioid crisis here in the county. Chief Manger talks about programs that are in place in the county, including STEER (Stop, Triage, Engage, Educate, and Rehabilitate) and training their officers in administering the lifesaving drug Narcan as ways to offer immediate treatment when responding to overdoses.
