Evan Glass, the first openly gay Montgomery County Council member, said he has been receiving hate-filled messages and phone calls for his role in organizing local pride events in the county. A Washington Post article was published that explains more about the flood of criticism toward Glass.
Pride Month is over, but Glass is still receiving homophobic messages. The council member said he is reading every email and comment and has no plans to hide or play down his identity.
As a community Montgomery county has no place for hate. We must move towards a message of peace, love, and positivity.
