On Tuesday, August 1, 2023 residents of Chevy Chase Village gathered at the Village Hall in recognition of “National Night Out”.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. It culminates annually on the first Tuesday in August and is meant to enhance the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. National Night Out provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
On that day the community learned about what both police officers and firefighters do from Chief of Police John N. Fitzgerald and Officer Deborah Tupa, gathered around some hotdogs, snacks and beverages prepared by Chevy Chase Village police department.
