Montgomery County recently launched an e-scooter and e-bike program on June 1st of this year. As a means to establish safeguards the county has organized free e-scooter training on Saturday, June 27 to acquaint residents with proper e-scooter use. This is an opportunity to learn how to properly and safely ride e-bikes and e-scooters. The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will teach some safety tips and rules when riding on the road.
Participants must be at least 18 years old.
Locations Include:
- 10:00 am – 12:00 pm: M-NCPPC, 8787 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring
- 1:00 – 3:00 pm: Westfield Montgomery Transit Center lot, 7101 Democracy Boulevard, Bethesda
MCDOT encourages all e-scooter riders to attend one of the free public training sessions and to wear a helmet when riding. Sidewalk riding of e-scooters and e-bikes is prohibited.
