Montgomery County’s Silver Spring Arts & Entertainment District recently announced that Arturo Sandoval will be headlining Silver Spring’s 16th Annual Jazz Festival, which will take place on Saturday, Aug. 24, from 3 to 10 p.m. in Veterans Plaza by the Silver Spring Civic.
This years Jazz Festival will take place the weekend before Labor Day to make it the County’s end-of-the-summer celebration. This makes it possible for everyone to spend the full weekend before school starts supporting Silver Spring’s local shops and enjoying the varied attractions and entertainment offerings in Silver Spring’s Arts District.
The Silver Spring Jazz Festival is a free event. International and American restaurants surround the festival site. Restrooms, first aid, and additional services can be found on-site. Attendees are encouraged to use public transportation and to bring a blanket and/or low back lawn chairs for seating. The festival is located a short distance from the Silver Spring Metro station.
