COVID Rent Relief Program is Open Now!
Renters who are behind in their rent due to the impact of the pandemic should apply to the Montgomery County Covid Rent Relief Program (CRRP) today. You will find eligibility requirements and the application portal HERE.
“We urge all renters to seek rental assistance before their housing stability is in crisis,” said Renters Alliance Executive Director Matt Losak. “If a renter does not qualify for the CRRP, s/he should contact Montgomery County Service to End and Prevent Homelessness by calling 311. Don’t wait to seek help.”
Renter’s Alliance hosted County Executive Marc Elrich and senior staff from the COVID Rent Relief Program and Services to End and Prevent Homelessness to provide details on the COVID Rent Relief Program, and provided an opportunity for renters to ask questions. In addition, information on renters‘ rights, code enforcement and other resources available to renters was discussed. Special Guests include the County Executive, Marc Elrich, and the Chief of Services to End and Prevent Homeless, Amanda Harris, as well as other county officials.
Rising COVID cases coupled with rising rents puts struggling families at high risk of health and home. Renter’s Alliance supports County Executive Marc Elrich’s proposal to extend a rent stabilization law to protect renters from rent gouging. Watch below to learn about Elrich’s proposal.
