Tonight at Poolesville Elementary School, Councilmember Andrew Friedson will meet with District 1 residents to discuss local issues. Andrew Friedson is the District 1 Councilmember representing western and southwestern Montgomery County from the D.C. line to the Frederick County border. He serves on the Planning, Housing, & Economic Development committee and the Government Operations & Fiscal Policy committee.
District 1 includes the communities of Bethesda, Cabin John, Chevy Chase, Friendship Heights, Garrett Park, Glen Echo, Kensington, Martin’s Additions, North Bethesda, Potomac, Poolesville, and Somerset.
The most geographically diverse of the districts, District 1 encompasses urban centers, suburban communities, rural countryside, the Agricultural Reserve, and numerous National and County parks and trails. Residents enjoy proximity to historic Glen Echo Park, the C&O Canal towpath, and the Capital Crescent Trail in addition to an array of other outdoor recreational options including golf courses, tennis and ice skating facilities, a riding stable, a family-oriented nature center and numerous athletic fields.
